Guest guest
In most classrooms there is a time for fun and a time to be serious. If you consider this a classroom, then those who subscribe should be able to have a l ittle fun as well as learn something. Class Clowns Anita wrote: > I too thought this was a playground in addition to being an excellent > source of information. If we can't have fun then we don't need to be > here. I agree that there is a need, as well as a demand for both. However, it is proven over and over again that anytime you try to be all things to all people, you will fail miserably at all. It is best to pick one thing and do it right. So why should this list have to be the one place for work AND play? Why can't we have one place specifically reserved for the exchange of news and intelligent discussion? Why does this one Listserver have to be a classroom AND a playground? It is not like there is a shortage of playgrounds on the Internet. The complaints that someone will stress out if they are not allowed to be the class clown on THIS Listserve are a lot of crap. There is an appropriate time and place for everything. Then there is the hypocrisy of those who complain about one clown, but defend another. Guest guest
Dear rsdrn. If you want this to be a serious list, then begin by signing your posts. It's not good form to post anonymously. It's all well and good to want the list to be intelligent and informative. But if you try to put people into a straightjacket about what they write they'll stop posting. The little inside jokes that go on between regular members are inevitable. I was run off another list because I said the wrong thing in the eyes of the Ayatollas that ran the list. So I said thank you, it's been nice to know you, and I left that list and never went back. A certain tolerance of others is necessary if a list is to be alive. I find that my delete key is my best defense against boredom. I vote for freedom of speech. Guest guest
Amen to that Gene, To the list: A friend of mine and me have an IRC Server and its just sitting there wasting space on the internet and he offered you guys the use of it - if wanted it is located at www.onlineguardians.org We could either open a channel alone for only EMS or join one that will open shortly which has Law enforcement personnel from www.TrafficEnforcement.Org Thinking about it I think it wouldn’t be to bad of an idea because we could have real time discussions/meetings and possibly if we went about it the right way CE classes it all depends on how far we would want to take this and how we would do this. Just a thought Re: Class Clowns Dear rsdrn. If you want this to be a serious list, then begin by signing your posts. It's not good form to post anonymously. Gene, My name is almost always at the bottom of my posts. And we have discussed this before. I do not post anonymously. You are simply being ripped of by an internet service provider who tries to keep people anonymous and does not give you the information which is sent with every post I send. Anybody off of AOL knows my name is Rob . Rob

Guest guest
And what does aol have to do with the text that you put on your emails? I don't recall them having time to go through each and every email every person sends to take time and remove just ROB DAVIS' name....hmmm...search me but sounds alot like you didn't sign it? That's what I'm guessing. This is just another sign of someone who shoots off their mouth without knowing what he's talking about. Rob, take some advice. Just drop it! Sign your posts from now on out of respect to these people who take the time to try and educate you, and have a little fun along the way. That's all they are asking! Just SIGN each post. I think I made my point, so that's all you will hear from me. Dana Garrett EMT-I

Well, I guess it might to somebody who has spent their life on AOL. But every other e-mail program gives you the person's name and address, not just their address. So drop the ignorant, accusatory assumptions. Go search the group archives. You won't find more than a couple of posts from me without my name signed at the bottom. And that is about as irrelevant as a spelling error. Not to mention that I have been here long enough that anybody interested in names already knows it. Regardless, what my name is, is not relevant to the point in question. It makes my opinion no more or less valid. If I did't know your name, I would not think you were any more or less of your dubious opinion. Rob

Guest guest
Would you look at yourselves? Who are the class clowns now? Annoying, somewhat strident ones; but class clowns, regardless. Please take the personal sniping off list; thank you. Larry RN LP EMSI
