Guest guest
, Welcome to the group! Please look into Angel Flights, they will fly you for free. We currently have a few members that use them. You can learn more about them by going here: http://www.aircareall.org Your baby is at a great younger age to receive excellent correction. I used the Cranial Tech in NJ, they are excellent, you'll be in great hands. I added Upstate NY to your subject line to catch attention. I wish I could help you out, I am in NY but I'm on Long Island. Would your pediatrician write you a script for a DOCband? > Hi, one of the mother's on my aol mom's board referred me to this > board for some help and advice. Guest guest
I am taking my daugter to see her pediatrician next week and if she won't write the script for it, I will take her to another doctor who will. I am going to keep trying until I find someone who will help her and not just say she'll grow out of it, because as her mother I know something is wrong and I honestly don't trust doctors. I think it is partly their fault she has this problem to begin with since she was stuck and facing the wrong way in the womb and they knew it and did nothing about it and made both of us struggle through labor until her heart rate dropped when I started to push. Then they finally called the c-section. Anyhow, thank you for your information. I will definately look into Angel Flights. > > Hi, one of the mother's on my aol mom's board referred me to this > > board for some help and advice. Guest guest
Hi & welcome: We've had a couple former members w/Tricare ins that have been successful in getting covg for their baby's band(s). I believe the one mom who comes to my mind, fought stating her daughter's condition began inutero, therefore, it was a " cognitive " condition(someone correct me if I'm wrong, I always forget that word!) so she found a loophole in her policy which resulted in covg. I see gave you Angel Flight's link and added Upstate NY to your subject. If you haven't already, please look at our group DATABASE " Helmet/band providers " NY and see if anything else may be closer? It's worth a shot!! You could also reposition right now while waiting, chk out our LINKS & FILES sections " repostioning " for lots of good tips & products! Glad you're with us. Keep us posted, good luck! Debbie MI > > > Hi, one of the mother's on my aol mom's board referred me to this > > board for some help and advice. Guest guest
Hi , I just wanted to welcome you to the group, and I urge to do what you feel is best for your daughter. From what you have described, it sounds like your does have brachycephaly and could only benefit from a band. I see that has given you the link for Angel flights. I have heard nothing but rave reviews for that organization and I will keep my fingers crossed that they can help you. I also wanted to add that you are not alone in this. There are more than a couple moms here who will virtually hold your hand through the whole thing! I am sorry that you have to deal with this stress as well as having your husband in Afghanistan. Goodness, that would be stressful in itself. Good luck, and let us know how things progess for you. - mom to Aidan > > > Hi, one of the mother's on my aol mom's board referred me to this > > > board for some help and advice. Guest guest
Hi … I read in your post how your dtr hates to be on her tummy. Mine did too, and for a long time I just didn’t put her down on her tummy at all. Then I just decided to kind of force the issue. I didn’t force her to be on her tummy when she didn’t like it, I just kept putting her on her tummy until she did like it. So I would just put her down on her tummy, and then like 10 seconds later she would start crying. Then I picked her up and that was it. But then a little later, I put her down until she cried again, but picked her up right away. I just kept doing that until she started to like, or at least not mind, being down on her tummy. I also think it helps that my kids lay on the floor with her. But if you don’t have any others, your dtr would love it if you lay down on the floor with her. This is just what worked for me. I hope you can find something that works for you. Good luck… Becky and (6mo) in Pgh, PA From: Spring [mailto:las313@...] Sent: Tuesday, March 23, 2004 11:33 PM Plagiocephaly Subject: Re: Re: New Mom needs Help Please/UPSTATE NY You might mean " congential " condition.... and (DOCgrad 13-Feb-04) Debbie <dj2kirby@...> wrote: Hi & welcome: We've had a couple former members w/Tricare ins that have been successful in getting covg for their baby's band(s). Guest guest
Hi! We won our battle with Tricare and not only got them to pay for 2 DOC bands but also reimburse us for all of my travel expenses (we drove 3 hours each way) they paid for gas, hotel stays, food. The only receipts I needed was for the hotel stays. If youd like more info you can email me Thezepps6@... . My husband is stationed on Ft Bragg so I believe we are in different Tricare regions but Im sure Tricare is not all that different in different regions. Anyway please feel free to email me!
