I first posted about a month ago and am looking for some more

advice. I've been repositioning my daughter Madison (now 5 months)

since she was 2.5 months old. Although we have come a long way we

still have a ways to go. I have been taking pictures of her head

since I first visited the site, and have been encouraged because her

ears are now more aligned (I will try to post tonight). When we

first noticed her plagio, the right ear was quite a bit forward.

However, over the past week or so, it looks like her head has gotten

worse...I don't know how because I am very aggressive about

repositioning her at home (she is almost never on her flat spot) and

day care has been pretty diligent also (as far as I can tell).

Anyhow, I think she is going through a growth spurt (what we have

been waiting for), but it appears as though the back of her head

(non-flat side) is popping out instead of her flat side and it is

making things look worse. I'm hoping this growth spurt will

continue and we will see some improvement on the flat side. Her ear

position is still pretty good and there doesn't seem to be any

regression. Does any of this make sense??? I'm feeling a little

discouraged.

One more thing, we have an appointment next week at a crainofacial

center to get a more thorough diagnosis of her plagio. The ped

neurosurgeon we saw didn't even touch her head, just said that she

had plagio (wouldn't classify it as mild, moderate or severe) and

said it was our decision as to whether or not we wanted the helmet.

Needless to say, he wasn't very helpful. Hopefully we find out more

next week so we can make an informed decision. I'm still hopefull

that repositioning will work, but if we need to put her in a helmet,

I want to do it now before she gets much older.

Thanks for all the wonderful info posted on this page.

Hi ,

Were you able to get those pics posted? It's really hard to say

anything w/out seeing them. I'm glad you're getting another opinion

of her plagio too since she's getting on the older side for repoing

and your last doc didn't seem to be very helpful at all! Let us

know when you get those pics up.
