Guest guest
Hi Michele, Welcome to the group. I just wanted to let you know that I have BCBS of IL also. My son is 8 months and will be getting his Starband any day now. Good luck with repo. Sara & Mishawaka, IN
Guest guest
Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who has replied to my message. It is so comforting to know that there are others who are out there to help support you. I took a couple of pictures of my daughter this morning but they didn't turn out well so I'll try again after her nap. It would be nice to get your opinions on her. We live in the Atlanta area and I called Pediatric Neurosurgery Associates this morning. They were able to give her an appointment on April 7 with Dr. Reisner. Has anyone had an interaction with this office or Dr. Reisner? I was amazed that they could see her so soon. Maybe it was my lucky day and they just had a cancellation. Who knows.... I'm just thankful. Repo is so hard! I find myself checking on her every 10-15 minutes to make sure she's still in the correct position. I also have two other children (boys - ages 6 and 2) so it seems like I'm never sitting down. Thanks again, Michele
Guest guest
Hi Michele, Welcome to the group. My son, (8 months old w/ Brachy) is a patient of Dr. Reisner. We've seen him twice for evaluations of 's head. I've seen posts from one other parent who also uses Dr. Reisner. She no longer lives in the Atlanta area, but still uses him (that's a good sign!) Dr. Reisner has a very calm demeaner, and was very patient in answering all of my questions. In the end, he didn't feel that a band would be necessary for . (We have been repo'ing him since he was 4 months old.) His progress pics are under P. (I plan to post an updated pic this week.) 's head has shown some good progress recently, so I'm feeling good about our decision to continue repo. My advice is to go with your instincts! Just as an FYI...the Orthotics Department at Childrens is conducting a Plagio study. They scan plagio patients who are referred by the neuro to see how they are progressing (whether by use of repo or band). I just wanted to let you know in case you/Dr. Reisner decide not to band at this point. It's really great to have the scans to show exactly how much progress is being made! You may want to inquire about the study depending on the outcome of the visit. Either way, I wish you luck at the appointment. Please keep us posted.
