Hello Becky

I would think you should rotate between the other side and her back,

but not on the flat side. Sinse you never know when will have

a growth spurt I would def. watch that she is not on her flat.

Becky,

I wouldn't think one night could make a difference, especially at

her age, but I also don't blame you for worrying about it after all

that repo work! Hopefully she won't make that a habit though!

Hi Becky,

I let Remy sleep on her back again when she was 14 months old, and

by that time she was out of the crib on her own futon with pillows

(a much softer sleep surface than her crib mattress - added

insurance against regression.)

My main motivation for waiting that long to allow her incidental

sleep time on her former flat area, was that I waited until we were

seeing absoultely no further improvement from repo. Since we were

seeing tiny rounding up until about 12 months of age, I reasoned

Remy could feasible re-flatten up until that point with excessive

time on her flat area up until that age. It then took me a couple

of months until I didn't freak out when she wanted to sleep on her

back here and there! Now with Remy, and this might be different

than , there was a small area of residual flattening still

there after we " finished " repo, so I also reasoned that could be a

springboard to her head always settling on that one spot and

starting some re-flattening -- hence my waiting until a more

advanced age to permit back sleeping once again!

I think if you are still seeing any kind of improvement from repo

efforts, it might be wise to err on the side of caution and try to

prevent sleeping on her former flat area. If is very nicely

rounded, with no remaining flat area on which to settle during those

incidental back sleeping episodes, I wouldn't worry too much.

Please keep us posted on 's sleep position, and let us know

what you decide to do!

Take care,

Hi Becky,

This is such a tough question! I often think that getting them to

sleep through the night (every night, consistently) is one of the

greatest things in the world and I hate to do anything to disrupt

that. But, that being said, I would start repoing her again if you

notice a trend with her back sleeping, on the flat spot. One night

should not make a difference. It certainly won't make all of the

rounding that you have accomplished in the last 4 more go away, but

you don't want to " relapse " and get too comfy on the flat spot.

Let us know how it goes the next few nights!
