New Delhi: If an AIDS affected person marries while concealing his

disease, his wife shall have full right to get her Nikah annulled,

declared Islamic Fiqh Academy (IFA).

After a meeting attended by Ulema, Islamic scholars and doctors in

New Delhi, IFA came to the conclusion. It also declared that the

right with the woman to get her marriage nullified will remain if a

husband gets affected by AIDS after the marriage.

The mother has right of abortion if it is believed that the infant might get

affected through his mother, IFA announced.

More than three thousand Ulema, Islamic scholars and doctors and experts related

with various departments of life took part in the deliberation.

IFA said more than 100 Ulema represented All India Muslim Personal

Law Board, Darul Uloom Deoband and Jamaat-e-Islami Hind. IFA said it

is an AIDS patient's moral responsibility to inform his family about

his disease.
