Guest guest
The exact thing happened to me... I gained weight after going GF (for the same reasons!) and finally realized that my body doesn't need as much food as I had been giving it for years. Since re-learning how to eat, I am as trim as ever and feeling great! Losing weight on a gf diet Just wanted to let you know that you can lose weight eating gf foods and baked goods. We eat gf here and I have lost 50 pounds using the Weight Watchers plan of keeping track. However, when we first went gf, my dh gained 20 pounds. He thinks it was a combination of his body healing and being able to use the nutrition from the foods he ate and eating lots of gf candy...because he could. LOL! Cheryl in Colorado From the recent survey: My thoughts are #4 Very concerned. I find that the fat content in GF foods is extremely high as well as the calorie content. Not very person with Celiac Disease looses weight. About half can gain weight and if there is heart disease in the family history already, eating all this high fat content food is not good at all. Thanks!
Guest guest
How do you suggest doing Weight Watchers with the GF foods? I would be very interested in some pointers. I calculate points for all my baked goods and substitute gf pasta in WW recipes that call for it. See the recipe for WW Impossible Pumpkin Pie in the recipes for the group for an example of a gf recipe with WW points. Any food that is inherently gf like fruits, meats, milk and vegetables I can just look up in the WW points book. If the gf food has calories, fat and fiber grams listed on the package, you can calculate WW points. Do you have any specific questions you need answered about WW? Feel free to write me privately.
