,

I'm so glad that 's appt. went so smoothly, what a nice

surprise! Would you let us know how her initial fitting goes when

the helmet gets in?

I was wondering if you could help me with some information when you

have time... is the orthotics dept. right there at the hospital,

and do you have a name, contact/address info that you could share?

Do you know if their helmet is locally designed, or if it is a brand

name that they order to their casting specifications? What age

range is their helmet appropriate for as far as treatment goes (ex.

3 - 18 months.) That information might be of interest and help to

other parents new to plagio evaluating options in your area. Thank

you for any help at all!

I noted that you mentioned that 's helmet would be in in 3 -

4 weeks... I don't know from personal experience, but that seems to

be a long time between casting and fitting, especially in a little

one as young as your daughter is who is growing very quickly. Would

you please make sure you are absolutely comfortable with her fit at

the initial fitting? By the way, should see some

fantastic and rapid improvement in her headshape with being helmeted

so young! Please keep us posted!

Take care,

Christie (Mom to Repo'd Remy)

Wow ! How great! And what a relief for you guys to not have

to worry about fighting to get a script or dreading a casting appt!

I will however echo Christie's worry about going 3-4 weeks between

casting and fitting, especially at 's age. Her head is

growing so quickly at this point, so please be sure you're happy

with the fit. For example, Cranial Tech fits all babies within 2

weeks of casting, and for babies younger than 6 mos, they aim for

even less than that. Let us know when her band is in!

Wow !

It's always refreshing hearing stories like yours! SO many of our

plagio parents get the runaround when wanting a helmet or ANY plagio

info for that matter, so I'm happy to hear how smooth everything went.

If you don't mind, could you add the clinic's information to our

HELMET/BAND DATABASE? This would help future members in your area I'm

sure.

Let us know when the helmet is in., Thanks for the great update.

Hello

It is such a nice change to hear a story like yours. No fighting

for something your child needs. :o)

Like the others have already mentioned that 3 to 4wks between

casting and fitting is a long time. Maybe you could contact them

and see if they could put a rush on it. At your dughters age this

is a long time and much growth can occur in this time.

Please let us know how it goes.
