Guest guest
Hi Becca, We live in Buffalo, NY and I could not go a summer without A/C. I do not like heat (so I guess it's good that we live here LOL). I can only suggest a room a/c if central air is out of the question. I keep a small room thermometer (temp and RH%) in Colin's room and I am a FREAK about not letting it get too hot in there. We have central air. I guess also just dress her very lightly (only a diaper?) Good luck. Sue Colin F. 9.5 mos. STARband 6/29 Buffalo, NY > Hello all. Guest guest
This might sound weird, but I had a thought. There are products you can buy to put in dog crates that keep dogs cool. I have a cooler pad that has this odd gel in it. The gel soaks up water but doesn't release it again (I think it's the same stuff they put in diapers, actually, to soak up the moisture and keep the baby dry) and the dog can lie on it and stay cool without getting wet. There are also cooling disks you can put under their crate pad. A gain, I realize this sounds weird and I am not saying your baby is a puppy! But it might be worth checking them out to see if there is anything that can go in the crib. I live in Seattle and we don't get hot here, so I haven't had to deal with this problem. , 19 mos, tort, DOC Band 5/7 <r_shields21@y...> wrote: > Hello all. Guest guest
Hi Becca, We have a regular sized standing fan that is temp controlled (about $25-$30 at Wal-Mart) in 's room that we keep running all nite. We have window units in the living room and in our room, but not in hers. Thankfully we are just now getting to the 100 degree temps here(Texas) and at nite it is still in the low to mid 70's. I would suggest you get a small fan either standing or a desk fan a use it in her room at nite. sleeps only in a t-shirt at nite to help her stay cool because just like me she is hot natured. Good Luck. in Texas Mom to , DOC banded 5/03 Plagio/Brachy/Tort > <r_shields21@y...> wrote: > > Hello all. Guest guest
Hello again Becca I would try a fan, but rotate it. I do think that should help. After a few days most kids adjust to the temperature change. Just keep her dressed light, and maybe leave socks off as that is a vent for heat as well. As for the PT and the torticollis Please do get her into PT. That is really important for tort kids, and will only help with the plagio as well. Have you contacted EI yet? Early intervention will eval your daughter, and if she qualifies they come to your home and do treatment there with her. (Free of charge in most states) Some states it is called birth to 3. You probably can contact the school system and they should be able to help you along there. OR have the ped refer her to EI / Birth to 3 as soon as you found a good one. Good luck in all of this, and what helped me when I started all this that you are about to. ALL the great Moms that have been there and done it. You will get there. Guest guest
Hi Becca, Dress her in just a onesie and diaper for bed. You can use a fan but I'd use an oscillating one, so as not to have the cool breeze blowing directly on her. > Hello all. I was wondering if any one has any advice on how to deal > with the heat.
