Hi, I am new to the group and not familiar with all the terms yet.

I not sure what is considered severe plagio? Also, my son 's pt

is hoping that the Starband will help his Tort, has anyone else found

this to be true. It seemed like it was getting better but then when

he started sitting up on his own the tilt came back worse than ever,

even though he has excellent ROM to both sides. She said that we

will give it about a month or so and if the Tort doesn't start to get

better we will have to consider the Tot collar. Anyone else have

experience with this? I just don't want to put so much stuff on .

Thanks,

Sara, mom to (7 months) In the process of getting a Starband

Hi Sara:

In our LINKS section, there is a folder titled SEVERITY ASSESSMENT

FORMS, this might give you a better idea of the severity.

Hi Sara and welcome to the group! There is a " severity assessment "

in the group's file section to help with determining the severity.

HTH My daughter didn't have tort so I can't help you there. One of

our moderators son's wore a tot collar and will chime in when she

gets a chance. She just had a new baby girl and is pretty busy.

I'm sure you'll get plenty of replies to help you. Does have

his STARBand already?

Hi Sara,

Welcome to the group. Bands don't help correct torticollis, they

correct plagio. Physical therapy corrects torticollis. I'm confused

as to why your PT would tell you that banding helps correct tort.

When will have his STARband? Is your PT aware that a baby can't

wear a band and a tort collar at the same time?

Please keep us posted on .

My ortho had mentioned that the tilt could get a bit worse when they're not feeling well, or teething or something like that. I would think that sitting up is such a new accomplishment for that it could tire him out and cause the tilt to be a bit worse until his muscle strenghten.

You might want to check out the torticollis support group and see what they thing.

Good Luck!
