Guest guest
Hi listmates, I just ordered the Vitamix blender for my son (4.4 y.o. SCD 4 1/2 mos.) and I was wondering if I can use it for juicing. It doesn't require removing the seeds/pits before blending and they say it breaks the fruits and vegetables down to their cellular level so straining the pulp out is unnecessary. I was wondering if I still need to cook fruits and vegetables before blending them. If anyone is using this, I could surely use some hints. Thanks,
Guest guest
, The Vitamix is a fabulous blender - best I've owned (and I have owned, and burnt out, a few!). However, I do not use it as a juicer. The idea behind juicing is that you get the juice without the fiber, so that the nutrients are easily absorbed and assimilated. The Vitamix blends, really, really well, but it's (in my opinion) still a blender. Makes great smoothies, almond milk (still need to strain), pureed food etc. Once you are eating raw fruit and vegatables (further along in SCD), then blending them raw works too. Hope that helps.
