Guest guest
, I'm glad to hear all is well so far. 10 minutes for red spots on the first day is good. It sounds like it's a good fit. Did they tell you about needing a second band due to his age and asymmetry? I'm glad they are preparing you in advance. I'm jealous the stretches are going so well. na almost always fought hers. Keep up the good work and happy rounding. mom to na DOC Grad 2/20/04 South Carolina We got 's band today I took him for the 2 hour drive to Durham, we got it, they made the adjustments, and we did the 2 hour drive home. He doesn't even notice it. The little bit of redness that it is causing goes away within 10 minutes after I take it off. The neck exercises are going great, he doesn't even mind those, of course that's because they only happen right after his bath and the only thing he has on is a diaper. I did ask what is asymmetry was, it's 24 mm. Because his adjusted age is 4.5 months, I am hoping to see quick improvement, but I do know that we will have to have a second band in about 2 months time. I am posting pictures that I took tonight, so anyone that wants to see can.For more plagio info

Guest guest
, Yes, she did say we will need a second band in a couple of months mainly due to the severity of his asymmetry. Today was just a good day for the stretches, he was in the car for a total of 4 hours and was just happy to have someone playing with him. I started trying the stretches a week ago, it usually doesn’t go so well. It might now, since it’s the only time he can really stretch his neck at all. He’s sleeping peacefully right now and his head isn’t bent as far to the right as it usually is when he’s sleeping. Guest guest
, That's exciting that you are seeing improvement in his neck. You will most likely be doing stretches long after you get rid of the band. Making it a game is the best thing to do. Our CT ortho said we should keep doing them until she was walking. She was almost resolved at xmas but then her January growth spurt and teething set her back. She has full range of motion but the tilt is back. Here are the tips I compiled from folks when I needed help. I thought I would give them to you in advance to keep him guessing. A mirror (bathroom or full length), good for range of motion and head righting stretches. Bubbles A good video Kiss baby’s neck as you stretch neck, make "zerberts" in baby’s neck as you stretch it. Tickle face with your hair if long enough Do stretches with baby sitting up Sneak one in while in the tub Turn head while drying hair after bath Hold baby so all exciting things are on the side you want them to turn towards. When toting baby on your hip make sure it forces them to turn the way you want to look forward, i.e. baby’s flat side is on the back left, so tote on your right hip. This is considered an active stretch, which does not require removal of the band. Head righting exercise 1: sit baby on your knee, tilt to bad side, this causes baby to right the head and thus due the ear to shoulder stretch. Baby can be facing you or away for this exercise. This stretch does not require removal of the band. Head righting exercise 2: hold baby in an angle in your arms so when baby rights head they get the ear to shoulder stretch. This stretch does not require removal of the band. Get on the floor. Lay baby on back. Sit over baby but don't put any weight on him. Put baby’s legs under your body held between your legs. You should be kind of sitting on your knees. This holds baby down so you have some leverage to get the stretches done. Yes, baby may continue to scream with this one, but at least he can't get away. On the floor again, this one is more fun and tricky. Lay baby on side, facing away from you, ear (of bad side) on the floor. Put one hand on top shoulder for control (to keep baby from rolling). Place other hand under baby’s hips. Pick up baby’s hips so the floor is doing ear to shoulder stretch. This one is for the daddies (you really need long arms). Hold baby in arms facing away from you with bad ear in crook of arm. Cradle under legs/hips. Adjust arms to do the ear to shoulder stretch. Your forearm holding the head should be at the ear.
