Hi again everyone,

My son will be on the SCD 1 month tomorrow :) No major

changes yet, but slightly less sensory issues and decreased

hyperactivity. That is, until the last few days. He has been very

hyper since Wednesday. We have not added anything new to his diet.

He is still very limited. I even took away eggs and tomatoes. He

also has had very gritty poopies for more than a week now. Last

night they were dary yellow/light brown and somewhat solid. He ate

more yesterday than two grown men. Mostly organic chop meat with

disguised veggies and turkey tots with mixed pureed vegetables in

safflower oil, pear sauce, a banana, and white grape juice with

water.Does anyone have any suggestions?? I would appreciate any

advice. Thanks Regina Mom to ASD SCD 4 wks

Regina,

This sounds like you are getting some die-off now. It should be temporary. Are

you doing epsom salts baths? Or activated charcoal? Many of the kids develop

these HUGE appetites in the beginning weeks/months. That won't last forever.

Hang in there..... I know this must be a difficult time..... but it means big

changes are going on down there.

Hi Regina

I was thinking that it could be die off too. If you're worried about

salicylates; I'd take out the grape juice first and see what happens.

Sam was doing fine with pineapple juice, but reacted to canned

pineapple.....go figure.

The huge appetite has me thinking die off though. But I've only been

doing this for 3 weeks now!

If the white grape juice was not making him hyper before, it would not now,

I don't think. So I'd be less likely to think this is a salicylate issue,

as a die-off issue. Unless there's some other new food you've introduced

that's high. Hope things calm down!
