Guest guest
Hooray for Kenzie (and you of course)!!! Tomato sauce is the best place to hide pureed veggies... That's how I used to get veggies into . I'd put jars of baby food into the spaghetti sauce and blend it in the blender and then add his meat. (Just so people know-this was before SCD. But you could add your own pureed veggies on SCD.) Carrots and green beans seem to cancel each other out as far as taste (and color) goes. Guest guest
Stupid question but do you cook the green beans and carrots first and then puree them before you make the sauce? I am such a " non cook " . Thanks Penny Re: success....I think > Hooray for Kenzie (and you of course)!!! > > > Tomato sauce is the best place to hide pureed veggies... Guest guest
What I did was cook the sauce and get the flavor I liked. Then I put the sauce in the blender and pureeed it. Then I added the jar of carrots baby food and jar of green beans baby foods. Then I turned the blender on until you couldn't see any green or orange. So, you would need to cook the carrots and green beans, then puree them. You might just try cooking several different veggies, then puree them separately and put them in to freezer containers in 1/4 cup servings. Then you could put a few in the fridge each night and use them the next day in whatever you make for Kenzie. So, you need to cook the spaghetti sauce first and make sure it tastes good. I think if you cook the green beans and carrots in the sauce the whole time, it will taste more like veggies and less like spaghetti sauce. I used to put green pepper, onion and garlic in the tomato sauce and completely puree it before adding the baby food because would not eat the sauce if it was lumpy. So, I made sure his sauce was completely smooth (and full of healthy things he could not see) before I added the cooked ground meat to it. I'm sneaky, what can I say...LOL.
