Guest guest
Hello, I have been repositioning my 6 month old, he has/had mild plagio with the back right side bulging out. The reason why I was so aware of it is b/c my 2 year old had it (but worse b/c I didn't know about plagio at the time). Anyway I took an ariel shot on Feb 21st and the right back side was looking worse even thought I've had him sleeping on his tummy and some side. So on Feb 21st I started to make sure he was on his right side at night more often than before (right side for the first half of the night and then I would put him back to sleep on his tummy after he woke up for his midnight bottle). I took another photo on Feb 26th, which is only five days later and the bulge is completely gone!? His head " looks " round now. I know it sometimes depends on the angle of the camera etc. so I will be taking more and keeping check on it but it's definately a big change for the better. I can't believe it has changed that much in a few days. That just goes to show how quickly plagio can develop if you're not aware of it I guess. I repo'd my 2 yr old from 5.5 months to about 12 months and it took all that time to fix the damage (not fixed completely) that he must have sustained while laying on his back from about age 3 - 5.5 months (I had him on sides before 3 months - this on advice from my prenatal class but I still didn't understand the significance of head moulding). Anyway, I just think the quick change with my 6 mth is unusual. I will have to make sure it doesn't go lopsided again just as quickly. Perhaps he had a growth spurt during those few nights. Guest guest
Hi, I am thrilled to hear about the bulge diminishing! Thank you for sharing this repo experience on the board for our other repo'ers! I wanted to share that with Remy, we would see dramatic rounding over the course of a few days, at times, just as you described with your baby. I really do believe that if you can catch a huge growth spurt while you are aggressively repo'ing, it's possible to see impressive correction during that time. We also had our share of small slips in progress, it appeared, during our repo'ing of Remy... looking back, these were during weeks when I worked incredible amounts of overtime, and my sleep-deprived husband was unable to stay awake to watch Remy's nap position in his arms or the crib. I am so, so pleased for you, Take care, Christie (Mom to Repo'd Remy) > Hello, > > I have been repositioning my 6 month old, he has/had mild plagio > with the back right side bulging out. Guest guest
That's amazing! My son is almost 6 months old, and I have been repo-ing for a little over a month now. His flat spot is not noticable to anyone else, and we've seen great improvements in his forehead bossing! He just went through a growth spurt, so I know that had to help. I'm hoping we can catch his next one and see even better results. Good job on your repo-ing!
