Guest guest
I have been on anti-depressants now for a couple of years. My depression was compounded in late-1999 by the sudden onset of severe anxiety. I barely spoke to anyone for nearly 2 months because I just couldn't process anything other than the 'issues' that I was anxious about. I finally went to my GP who immediately referred me to a wonderful Psychologist who gradually helped me to put things in perspective and overcome the anxiety-monster. During that dark period of Aug-Dec 1999, I put on over 25kgs, and was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in January 2000. The anxiety is gone now (thank heavens!), but if I miss more than one 'happy-pill', I still bottom-out very quickly. I'm sure it's a chemical imbalance that can only be corrected by the medication, and expect to remain on them for some time yet. regards, Leanne
