I did'nt notice it because I could'nt see it,my hairdresser asked if I'd used some dye on it.Nope...... Guest guest Posted February 5, 2004 Report Share Posted February 5, 2004 Platinum is a beautiful colour....Especially when it's natural.I get teased a lot about coloring my hair and who knows,I might some day.Two of my son's have a lot of gray hair,(they have dark hair) and the other two(son & daughter have blonde hair)so it's not as noticable. Trying to catch up on mail,wow,gonna take a while. Supposedly people with premature grey are predisposed towards hypothyroidism and premature grey hair is also an inherited trait. I was just curious. It's always looked like an expensive frost job so I've never covered it up. Almost completely gray now at almost 50. Guest guest Posted February 5, 2004 Report Share Posted February 5, 2004 I have lots of gray hair...since age 26...Now 31 and if I do not color it..Most of my hair is gray( down the middle) My grad mother ( fathers mother) , died at 51 with long , pretty gray and black hair. My dad thinks ( in a big way) that she was hypothyroid and her husband ( my grand father) has the skin discoloration , also all gray at 40. I've been graying since I was about 27. My cousin was a full gray headed woman at the tender age 35. She died of an auto immune disease....poly miacitis and derma- myacitis. If only I knew then what I know now...I know she would be alive and well...and on Armour, adrenal support and much vitamins. Bless her heart she lived with this disease for over 17 years...the docs gave her 3 when they diagnosed her. Sara Rosenthal, page 16, paragraph 3, she states that premature graying of hair is a sign of Thyroid problems. Mine began turning gray in my 20s. The only " dark " hair on my head now is dark gray and is at the back of my head. Around my face, it is silver. Since starting Armour, the quality of my hair is quite improved -- not nearly so dry and brittle as it was while taking T4 only. Some people have had their hair color return after getting their thyroid problems under control? that is terrific. If that happened to me, I would be pleased.... However, I like my new " look " , as I do not look as old as I am. My hairdressers over the years have also commented saying that they could never achieve that color without nearly killing my hair, especially considering that my real color is a deep chocolate brown... The facial hair has also changed to gray/platinum. I use a brow pencil, a bit of eye liner, no mascara (bad eyes and won't take a risk there), a touch of shadow, and I am good to go!
