Guest guest
Thanks so much for sharing that , this is so encouraging! We are rejoicing with you! 4 month update Hi all, Today has been on SCD for exactly 4 months. I'm a reaaaaally happy Mum. He is doing so well. Here is our 4 month report: Pre SCD Sam had: - no eye contact - unhappy child syndrome - was mummy deaf - didn't play with his siblings - was a video fanatic - couldn't squeeze his Elmo toy's hand to get Elmo to dance & couldn't do the twists and turns on those flip up type toys - couldn't blow bubbles or blow a whistle - couldn't talk and in fact I suspect he couldn't understand a lot of what was said to him - no pretend play - no play with other kids - etc, etc, etc On our 4th " monthaversary " - really improved eye contact - very happy child - turns when called and follows alot of directions - I think he understands almost every thing we say to him - plays with his brothers and actually tries to instigate games with them - can squeeze old Elmo's hands to get him to dance and in fact will manipulate a toy till he works out what can be done with it - he pretend plays - he can blow whistle and plays his toy Sax - he babbles alot and actually says some words now. - he sometimes plays with other kids but even when not playing he will sit with them in group time. - he is a big cuddle bunny-- lots of hugs and kisses for everyone and I know he is partial to pretty little blond girls because he will usually go to cuddle and kiss little blond girls if he happens to see one at the shops; -etc, etc, etc We still have a long way to go but he is on track. I was really despondent at one point and a big thanks to Sue for her help and to Patti too. Angie's suggestions of adding veggie juices really turned Sam around and I think accelerated his healing. We still have candida to deal with and he has some bugs in the gut but we'll deal with them. I used to really get hung up on his stimming and that he wasn't talking ( even up to a few weeks ago) but now I figure I'll just take the good with the bad and hopefully as he recovers the bad will no longer be present. ALSO AND VERY IMPORTANT: I am convinced that SCD has " fixed " some real fundamentals with Sam's biochemistry but that he is now RIPE for other interventions including ABA. Given that Sam missed developmental milestones I feel its super important for therapies to kick in so that he can catch up on his development. Also He definitely is reactive to certain " others " - chemicals etc, so I'm starting homeopathic remedies as well. SO SCD IS IN MY VIEW THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT INGREDIENT TO RECOVERING THESE CHILDREN. IT " LEVELS THE PLAYING FIELD " AND GIVES OTHER THERAPIES A CHANCE TO WORK GOD BLESS YOU ELAINE. Guest guest
This is excellent!!!!!! Karyn, Mom to 4.1, dx autism, SCD 1 week 4 month update Hi all, Today has been on SCD for exactly 4 months.
