Guest guest
These are the posts I have been seeing the last couple of days. Was just getting interested. Cath - Brisbane << They did a blood test gave me Cipro and sent me on my way. >>Alana,We were told at a recent support group meeting that CIPRO is useless to our new digestive systems as it is designed to be absorbed in the duodenum and ours is bypassed. I had also been given Cipro for a urinary tract infection 2 weeks after I came home from the hospital and it did nothing. I had to be given a different antibiotic that my body would absorb. I learned about Cipro after the fact. Many doctors are not familiar with how our new bodies work and medications can be a problem. Please check with your pharmacist and surgeon - you may be taking the Cipro and it won't work as your body won't absorb it. Debbie R. Hi,I'm new to the Post Op side of thngs, just came over on the 19th. Isthere an existing list of vitamin, minerals, and medicines we no longerabsorb?.... My BP medicine isn't doing the job it use to but I amhopefully the weight I have already lost will help. Thanks for the info....Barbara Hamze Barbara, I don't believe there's a list. And if there were, parts of it would be purely subjective, because we each have differing bowel lengths, stomach sizes, etc.... what one postie has no trouble with, another may not be able to absorb at all.
