Guest guest
A group of physicians have asked us to assist them with the follow-up care of patients who have undergone surgery (banding, bypass, etc) for morbid obesity. We know that they desperately need structured rehab to restore strength and endurance and I believe that we would be able document functional deficits and establish appropriate ADL goals. Has anyone had success with such a program? I know that there is an ICD-9 code (278.01) for morbid obesity but I assume that most insurances will not accept it. Any suggestions on using extremity joint pain, etc which often accompanies such problems?
