Guest guest Posted January 18, 2006 Report Posted January 18, 2006 Most therapists have gotten in the habit of memorizing 3 treatment codes and applying them to most medical diagnoses we get in the SNF facility. FIs have become more aware of these codes and in some cases deny based on the fact that they do not represent a skilled need. All things considered, I think we need to become a little more savvy and use specific codes that fine tune what we are delivering. I am in the process of implementing a ICD-9 Treatment Coding Guideline. This guideline will give the treating therapists choice of different codes to choose from based on the common diagnoses we see in our SNF. I'd like to know if anyone else has explored this area and have additional info. Tamera J. Bounds Regional Rehab Director --------------------------------- Yahoo!
