Guest guest
Splenda can set off diarrhea in some people, too!! Marilyn DaubMy Cats Knead Me!!!mcdaub@...Vanceburg, KY Two things First, I bought some pecan-crusted trout at Whole Foods today and then learned that there is some "enriched unbleached flour" in the coating. It is the third ingredient listed so there probably isn't MUCH of it. I'm going to eat the fish anyway. I'm on Phase 2 or 1.5 and this will be the first booboo since starting. What should I be watching out for in the way of a response to this, if anything? Second, I haven't seen anyone else mention this, but I have a sort of delicate problem. While I've never felt better or had more energy since starting SB, and also have been feeling so good about myself in general since starting SB and joining Curves, many days, about 6-7 hours after breakfast, I have some serious bathroom urgency. About 2-3 visits in rapid succession. Then all is well. I have V8 or tomato juice every morning or some tomatoes and I'm wondering if that could be the problem, although these things have never bothered me before. Any thoughts? Again, I'm so thankful for this List. I learn something every single day. , Near Philadelphai Wearing Red on Friday . . . . http://www.melbourne.indymedia.org/news/2004/05/69486.phpReminder: The South Beach Diet is not low-carb. Guest guest
Hi ; I wouldn't worry about the fish, but I wouldn't make a habit out of eating it often either. Maybe when you're closer to goal or Phase 3 you could eat it on occasion? About your 'tummy troubles'... I experienced similar symptoms too and it was because I was eating too much salad; 2 salads per day. Once I cut it down to 0-1 salads a day, I was much better. You also need to remember that digestion takes several hours and that what you eat for breakfast probably isn't the culprit. Eating does stimulate the digestive system though, and that might make it appear that the 'tummy troubles' would come from breakfast. If I were you, I'd experiment with my dinner meal and see what changes can be made regarding veggies. Just a thought. I hope you find a solution soon! Guest guest
<<<<<<It can be at times like going into labor!>>>>>> Yes, it was like that.......but with a sick feeling along with it. Also, a tidbit of info.......I have avoided aspartame, including gum, like the plague for years because it always made me feel disoriented........but I "cheated" and started chewing sugar-free gum on the SBD. I didn't seem to be having my typical reaction, so I continued, and even stepped it up when I was craving sweets. End result was that I developed chronic eustachian tube dysfunction.........with fluid behind the eardrum. Upon doing a great deal of research on medical sites, I discovered that aspartame can contribute to that as well as tinnitis (ringing in the ears). I put iit together when my ear closed up one day within minutes of chewing the gum........then got on the Internet to confirm it........there it was. All in all.........the best way to "figure" out health issues is to LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. I usually know what's going on before my doctors do by doing that.
