That happens to me sometimes too (Tho I haven't started SBD yet, I'm going to soon) I just feel all weak and shakey, and then I have some cookies or something, and I'm fine. It doesn't happen often enough for me to worry or I'd go to the doctor about it.... I know its not because I'm hungry because I'd eaten breakfast etc.... All I can figure is that there was just something wrong with sugar in my body.... hmmm.... I didn't even think about having that problem!! It might get more frequent when I start and don't have any sugar for 2 weeks!!! Maybe instead of a soda, fruit? I don't know. I will probably just make sure I always have a snack with me, if it starts happening. Hmmm. Weird..

Now I am on like day 10 or 11 and I haven't had ANY trouble giving up my daily pepsi's or eating what is on the diet. But yesterday I was sick, that's the only way I can explain it, and HAD to stop and get a subway sandwich. So I did and I ate it and I felt so much better afterwards. I wasn't cold anymore - my hands and feet had been cold all day, I wasn't lightheaded or dizzy or shaky - just really tired. I was in bed and asleep by 10 pm which is weird for me cause I am

usually up till 1 or 2 am. Today I got up and I feel great except for the scale saying that I gained 5# :( I am positive I didn't eat 5# of food...lol. So I don't know what happened to me. I have been taking antibiotics forever because of this walking pneumonia (which is finally getting better) and I have a lovely yeast infection because of them. But otherwise?? Anyway, I don't know what happened, but I am BACK today and thot I would post in case someone had an idea - maybe I just had a bug. Anita, that sort of experience used to happen to me too. Still does when I fall off the wagon. I think it is the stage called pre-diabetes - it is almost like a diabetic attack. If you look up the symptoms of diabetes it almost matches, except for the excessive thirst and urinating. I got myself checked for diabetes several times, with no result. However, once I started this way of life that all disappeared, because the type of food you are now eating is low on the glycemic index and the sugar doesn't disappear from your body quickly, which is what causes the dizziness and shakiness. Eating carbs, but especially chocolate, does fix the dizziness immediately, but it causes a vicious circle because it then disappears from your body quickly and you need another quick fix. What you need to do is to accustom your body to digesting sugar slowly. I carry a small bag of brazil nuts in my handbag to snack on when I am having a bad day. For me, eating too much bread brings on the dizzies again, you will have to see what your body is burning up too quickly. Having said that, I only get this way once a month or so, and usually around PMT time, whereas before Atkins then SBD I felt like that all day every day. Hope this helps someone - Caroline in the UK

Maybe it is hypoglycemia. When we eat carb foods, sugar goes

quickly to blood. When food is proteic, it takes a long time

to turns into sugar and goes to cells. That's why proteic

food cannot fix dizziness. You have to eat to prevent

hypoglycemia, not to fix it.

Hypoglycemic people, just as pre-diabetics, can't eat carb

foods, due to vicious circle Caroline said.
