Guest guest
So what is the expected weight loss for someone like me who will be coming from NO diet. I don't eat good at all. I exercise good but not eat good. This advice was so helpful to me! I was upset that I hadn't lost that much weight, but now I read this I see that it is because I had come off Atkins which I had been on for a year. So I had no water weight to lose and no easy calories. Plus I am 43 and starting to become a bit menopausal (if that makes sense). This piece of advice means that I am more likely to stay on SBD and put up with a smaller initial weight loss. Thank you so much for posting this. Caroline in the UK Exceptions to the Rule Are you in Phase 1 and wondering why you haven't been able to lose asmuch weight as you'd like? Don't quit the diet yet! There are a fewpossible explanations:Your diet before going on the Beach was already pretty healthy. Phase1 weight loss is attributable to a loss of water associated withlimiting carbs as well as fat loss due to a decrease in the overallintake of calories. If your diet already limited carbs, chances areyou're not retaining as much water weight as the average overweightperson. You just came off a low-carb diet. For the same reason as above, youmay not see drastic Phase 1 weight loss. You don't have much weight to lose. If you're looking to drop 5 to 10pounds or less, you may experience a more gradual weight loss. You're going through menopause. Women experiencing hormonal changeshave a harder time losing weight. You have a medical condition that prevents you from losing weight. Some dieters have other reasons for their weight gain orslow-to-nonexistent weight loss. Only your physician can determine ifyou fit into this category. If you're not satisfied with your rate of weight loss and there is noexisting medical condition or hormonal change that would prevent youfrom losing weight, try upping the intensity and duration of yourexercise routine. Adding weight-bearing exercise to your workout canalso aid in weight loss.Reminder: The South Beach Diet is not low-carb. Nor is it low-fat. The South Beach Diet teaches you to rely on the right carbs and the right fats-the good ones-and enables you to live quite happily without the bad carbs and bad fats. Guest guest
It also will depend on how much you have to lose... mb Re: Exceptions to the Rule So what is the expected weight loss for someone like me who will be coming from NO diet.
