Is this yogurt ok for phase 2? It is the carb countdown brand and

the nut. facts are:

cal: 90

fat: 1.5g

carb: 4g

sugars: 1g

protein: 12g

I don't see any sugar in the ingredients. What do you think? I

bought a carton and would like to have it as a snack.

I get 's Yogurt. It's a local brand that only comes in plain, both

lowfat and nonfat. It has about 10 different acidophillus bacteria strains

in it and the taste and texture beats anything I've found nationally. I have

found that stores like Albertson's, Safeway, Pathmark, and other big chains

will have their own store brand of yogurt including plain.

You know, it's not hard to make your own yogurt. All it takes is some warm

milk and some yogurt for starter. You need to scald the milk, then bring it

down to baby bathwater themperature, stir in a couple of tablespoons of

yogurt and keep it warm ovenight. I put mine in the oven with the light on.

Check in the morning to see if it has thickened. If it has, you can eat it

right away. If it hasn't, you may need to warm the oven a bit (175* for 5

minutes) to jump start the yogurt. If for some reason it still doesn't get

thick (and it may not get very thick) you can chill it and use it in place

of buttermilk.

I buy Blue Bunney's 85 yogurt - seems like I read

somewhere that it was ok for SBD.

But after someone sent the yogurt-maker link, I

might start making my own. <G> DH LOVES yogurt,

and its a bit expensive to go through it as fast

as we do.
