Guest guest
Bink, I'm so sorry to here this awful news. And bless you for seeing that what is true and real did not get hurt!  If I can try to get a laugh out of anyone...maybe you need to look into friendofcam's nephew - ....may he continue to haunt us all. I know there is no real humor in your situation, I'm just trying to put some light into it. Bless you and thank the G man that you are all safe!  Take Care Of You, JaneSoul got robbed. ugh. my laptop is gone. so is my bike. but my husband is crazy neurotic about having serial numbers, so that's good. nobody is dead. that's also good. bink
Guest guest
i think you're aiming too high. we were going through the house trying to figure out WHAT they stole. they didn't get the big tv, the ps3, the hddvd player, the amplifier, my pa system and speakers for my band, my husband's really expensive electric keyboard. they left a computer and about 50 cds untouched. all my anime is still here. no books were touched. CREDIT CARDS! there were 5 credit cards that were OUT that they could have taken. what IS gone: besides the laptop and the bikes, several large plastic bottles about 1/4 way full of alcohol are missing. this is, like, the cheapest alcohol money can buy. these thieves clearly do not have the intellectual capacity to be going to college i am just sooooo impressed with my husband, though. he had serial numbers and receipts for EVERYTHING and also has a renter's insurance policy, so we get replacement costs for everything that was stolen! (a little more than $5000 worth.) all in all, this is probably one of the better ways to get robbed. bink > > > > > ugh. my laptop is gone. so is my bike. but my husband is crazy > > > neurotic about having serial numbers, so that's good. > > > > > > nobody is dead. that's also good. > > > bink > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
hey jane. don't worry. i can find humor in anything! i've actually been walking and just wondering WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!?! these thieves are definitely going to be some that show up on those " dumbest crooks ever " shows. check out my other post about what they were most interested in. i live right next door to my husband's grandmother, and when i got home and realized i'd been robbed, i was immediately terrified that she had been injured. her car was in the driveway and she's usually on top of all neighborhood stuff. luckily she had just decided to take a nap and was fine, so that's good. it really could have been much worse. i was talking to my husband when i got home coincidentally and he got off the phone to come home, but then called me back terrified that the thieves were still in the house and he had sent me to my death. nope. nobody was here. it was all ok. when the cops got here (took like 4 mins), they looked around and gave me a case number. i walked them out and then i was like, " getting robbed sucks. " then i screamed, " GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! " the cop was like, " it's ok, just let it out. if you need to hit anyone...you can hit my partner. " i was like, HA! no, that would probably be bad. i usually go for the solar plexus or the nose. They both raised their eyebrows and rescinded the offer. my little brother in law and mom in law showed up before the police did and my grandma in law were there. then the husband and the dad in law showed up, and then the OTHER brother in law and his wife showed up, so there were a lot of people around. and i called my dad and he was really mad about it, but then i started telling him about my husband's tenacity at documenting every single serial number of every single thing we own AND that our renter's insurance would cover it, and he was like, " wow, you have an amazing husband. i thought this was a lot worse. " honestly, this isn't as bad as when my husband was robbed at gunpoint in january. i prefer this kind of thievery over that any day. still, though, it's weird that someone has been through my stuff. i'm getting a security system installed tomorrow and my mom in law also walked around the entire house and drilled holes through all the corners of the windows and put nails through them so you can't open them from the outside at all. i would have preferred a less eventful day, but this one turned out ok despite everything. bink > > Bink, I'm so sorry to here this awful news.
