I would talk to your ob/gyn, tell him you are on this and ask what his recommendation is as far as how much of what to eat. Then take his list of how many milks, proteins, good grains and make your choices SB friendly. I carried 5 kids and ate a candy bar a day most pregs, that's why I'm here. Hopefully you will continue to join us and keep yourself heathly. Just remember you are not here for losing weight, but to have a heathly baby and a heathly mommie come out of the hosp. Love to hear your good news!!!!!!! I don't have my SBD book with me here at work, and was wondering if you all knew what was recommended as far as doing SBD while pregnant.I just found out I am pregnant (after trying for 3 years, and 1 miscarriage) I believe my 40 pound weight loss has helped!I just want to make sure I take in an adequate amount of food, and a good enough variety. Thanks!Reminder: The South Beach Diet is not low-carb. Guest guest
Congratulations on your pregnancy. I think you should talk to your doctor and see what he/she has to say about SBD while pregnant. Personally when I start trying to get pregnant I am not going to diet. I had a miscarriage on June 1st and we are waiting the recommended months before we try again. I am trying to lose my excess weight before we start trying to get pregnant. I will WATCH my sugar intake and eat healthy, but I will not worry about dieting again until I get done breast feeding. We do not know why we lost this last baby, but I do not want to do ANYTHING questionable and take the risk of losing another baby.
