What kinds of foods have B12 in them? I'll try anything, as it's really distressing. They say stress affects your bg's...it's impossible not to feel some stress when everytime you wash, brush or comb your hair, your comb or brush is full of hair afterwards! Guest guest
I am a type 2 diabetic and I also have lost lots of hair. It is so bad, that when I towel dry it, I have to take my towel outside and shake it. It is terrible. My hair is very thin and I can see my scalp on top of my head and heading down the back of my head. I was told to take Biotin. They didn't tell me how much. I don't take any med's. So far, I am controlling my diatetes with diet and exercise. Betty In a message dated 1/21/2003 11:20:46 AM Eastern Standard Time, luvmacca@... writes: > > > I'm bothered by hair loss, too. . Guest guest
Hi Kar, This is usually a sign of the thyroid not producing enough (or producing way too much?) of the T's. So I suspect her hair falling out is left over from when her body was not making enough of the T's. She will probably start to see new hairs show up in a month or two of when she starts to reach her optimum dosage. For me, I make sure that I take a broad sectrum of the B complex (I use Super-B Complex) and a high quality source of protein for breakfast and a different source of protein for dinner. We want to make sure that the body is getting enough protein, essential oils, vitamins and minerals to make new hair. I also have started eating slow-cook Oatmeal for breakfast for the lowering of cholestrol that a lot of people with Thyroid problems experience. Its a great habit to have...roughage, calcium and protein from milk, cholestrol lowering properties of the slow-cooked oatmeal. And my vitamins. Oh, if you/she/whomever starts to take a high potency of a B-Complex expect your urine to be a bright yellow...If its not than either you are drinking a lot of water or not taking enough of the B-Complex. Guest guest
Wow, I never knew it had a name.. I do know that my hair thinned.. and was too thin to begin with... then, as I got on natural and got my dose up I noticed more hair breakage... smaller lengths with no root.... then came the weird part... when folks would look at me and ask me why I had hair sticking up!!! I had waist length hair and as the new stuff started coming in it would grow straight up, to almost 1 1/2 inches before lying down and blending in... I had about 6 or 8 inches of length cut off to get rid of some of the old stuff and even out the length and about a month after that I heard a giggle... and the comment about my hair sticking up again.... Judging by my rubber band, I used to have to wrap it three times to hold a pony tail.. now I can wrap it only twice. It's hard to be patient, boy, do a LOT of us know that... but things come back when you help your body to get better.
