Guest guest
How long have you been on Armour? How often have you been increasing your dose? How many times are you dosing per day? Are you swallowing the Armour or taking it sublingually? Are you keeping the armour doses separate from the other stuff? Are you eating regularly? How is your pulse and basal body temp? I've got the thermostat down to sixty five.. and I'm sitting here with my bare feet propped up on a chair and feel just fine... but, to be fair.. at 75 I'm miserably hot... As a refresher, here is all I am taking: Selenium, B-Complex w/Vitamin C, Vitamin C by itself, Calcium, Adrenal Glandulars, Zinc, GTF Chromium, Metformin (again as of today), Magnesium, Amino Acids, Iron, Acidopholous, Nexium, Allegra, Rhinocourt, L-Tyrosine and when I remember Bee Pollen granuals. And ofcourse my Armour. I need help. Thanks! Deb:-)
Guest guest
Hi Topper, On Armour for two months, I started out at 2 grains just 'cause I felt so lousy and I'm not a patient person. I increased every two weeks by 1 grain until I got to four grains. Then I stayed there for a month, then increased to five grains because I still didn't feel quite right. Now am on 5-1/2 grains. I dose in the early AM when I first get up, mid afternoon and at bed time. 3-1/2 grains in the early AM, and 1 each for the mid afternoon and bedtime doses. My first dose I swallow because I don't eat for at least an hour and a half, the other two I do sublingually. I don't take anything else when I take my Armour. My pulse is fine, maybe a little slow yet, but I don't know what my basals are. I don't do those, I never did get it right so I don't bother and go by if I feel hot or cold. I'm usually always cold, but have been just freezing here the last couple of days. And it hasn't been exceptionally cold in Chicago. Yes, I'm eating regularly. A little bit about every two hours. Thanks for the help. :-) One of these days I think I will finally get a handle on this and get it under control. I hope so anyway. Deb :-)topper2@... wrote: How long have you been on Armour? Guest guest
Well.. you have to keep in mind that it takes 4 to 6 weeks for your body to get the full effect of a dosage increase.... You're going to be getting hit with your dosage increases soon.. you increased by way too much way to quickly... What is your pulse rate.. give me a number.... For now you are going to have to be patient and see how your body reacts to your increases, until it catches up. You do need to determine, at the very least, your pulse rate (at rest), and use that as your minimum guideline to see how your body is reacting to your dosage increases... it's going to be another month before you can go in and get accurate labs. Our bodies also produce heat through muscle movement... moving around and getting some muscle action will help, some... like moving your arms around... etc... but we need to know what your pulse rate is up to. It sucks to be cold.. I'll throw some thoughts in the air and you can decide if anything might help. Avoid eating and drinking anything cold, cold food and liquid in the stomach causes the body to pull heat from the extremities to warm up body organs. Make sure that you are wearing something warm on your feet and put on a hat. 50% of the heat our bodies lose goes out of the top of our heads, 30% out of the bottoms of our feet.. only 20% out of the rest of our bodies.. so it's most important to prevent heat loss from head and feet... Wear cotton or wool... fabrics that allow moisture to be absorbed and moved away from the body... a damp body loses more heat. Wiggle your feet and toes, drum your fingers, twiddle your thumbs... things that will keep your blood flowing, warming your body. ... that's all that is coming to mind right now.... I hope something I've said helps a wee bit or at least gives your brain some thoughts.... Guest guest
Hi Deb, I don't get the cold all over mine is usually my hands and feet like blocks of ice. Hubby got tired of me trying to warm them up on him, as most of the time it seemed to bother me most at bedtime. There were nights I had a hard time getting to sleep they were so cold. About 3 weeks ago I treated myself to a hot water bottle so I use it at night-time and during the day I have a foot/massage/bath thing that I use. Found that warms me up just as a temporary relief, anything is worth a try when you're that cold. Be warm. Dawn ps thought...know anyone gorgeous that gives a good massage? > Well.. you have to keep in mind that it takes 4 to 6 weeks for your body > to get the full effect of a dosage increase....
