Guest guest
OK - I hope this goes thru because we're having major problems with our internet connection -- and I really need some advice. (This is the only response I was able to access so I'll read the rest later hopefully.) Yes, I did notice my temp did raise when I had my cold--all the way to 97.7! I had just increased my armour dose 5 days before so I didn't adjust it, but did add 1 adrenal (to 4 total.) And after my cold was over, my temp did decrease again. Here's my main question - I increased to 2 grains about 10 days ago and my oral temp increased to 97.5 and stayed for a few days. I have to say that I definetely felt better. Now over the past 2 days, I feel like I've just crashed. My legs have turned to jello almost overnight, hair loss is worse, didn't sleep as good, overall weakness. My temp in those 2 days has went from the 97.5 to 97 to 96.2 today. And I certainly feel it. My next planned increase would be next Sun (2 weeks since the last one). Should I still wait till then based on my temps and how awful I feel? Thanks everyone! Guest guest
Debbie.. what you describe is similar to what I went through when my Adrenal dose was too high.... How long have you been using it? What was your starting dose? How frequent are you increases? I'm gonna venture to say that your body is 'crashing' the same way mine did from feeling too good and forced and over doing... all because of too much adrenal to start... I kept pushing and ended up with muscle failure... actually falling down when trying to walk... I backed off the adrenal totally for two months and then started up again at a much lower dose.. that was the trick for me... As far as another increase on the Armour.. remember... it takes 4 to 6 weeks to realize the full affect of the T4 in the Armour... increasing by too much and/or too quickly can cause you to go hyper weeks after you've started taking too much.. it can then take some time to back down.... I know it's hard to go slow... but going too fast can do more harm than good... I found out the hard way... I crashed during the folks vacation.. if I'd have injured myself in a fall... most likely no one would have noticed for a good month.... All though it was the falling that got me on line that December night two years ago... I found Bev's Immune group and those gals helped me to figure out what was wrong that night.. I was soooo scared.. that's also where and I met... just a couple of weeks later we started this group... to help save others from the horrors that we've faced. Guest guest
Hi Debbie, I agree with Topper on this. It does sound like you need to back off of the adrenal support a bit... A little bit will go a long way for most of us. As for the temperature swings, this is normal during increases of Thyroid medication. The body accepts the new dosage, gets used to it and settles into a new range, albight not as high as the first couple of days as the body did its adjustments, however a little bit higher in temp than before the increase. Finding your bodies balance takes patience...If patience is not applied you can bajenx the whole works and have to start from ground zero all over again. Increasing your thyroid medication every two weeks is way too fast. Your body is still adjusting to the last increase. It takes 4 to 6 weeks for the body to find its zone with the current dosage. Even pro-active Doctors agree on this. Patience must be applied when it comes to getting our bodies adjusted to this new way of living.
