A cold or any sickness greatly increases the need for cortisol and

other adrenal hormones. If you are on adrenal support, you are

supposed to double the amount of cortef, IsoCort or whatever you are

taking in illness. This is standard proceedure for adrenal support

and if you want to read about this, check out Jeffries " Safe Uses of

Cortisol " This will really speed healing and recover from any

illness. Illness can double adrenal demand.

When you are sick and depleting adrenal, you can have problems with

thyroid. If adrenal is low, thyroid cannot get into tissues and you

can get thyroid overdose symptoms because thryoid will build up in

the blood. It then affects the heart and muscles, which have high

blood flow to them. This would explain the racing heart.

Thanks Tish - That makes a lot of sense. I'm taking nutri-meds

adrenal and had thought about increasing, but was too scared to do it

without some input and reassurance!

Thanks - Debbie
