Guest guest
Zinc is used by enzymes to create DNA and helps to heal wounds. It is a very important part of a healthy immune system.Like thyroid hormones, zinc is needed by every cell in the body.It is concentrated in themuscles, bones, skin, kidneys, liver, pancreas, eyes and the prostate. Zinc is plentiful in drinking water and in meat. It plays an important part of hundreds of body functions, such as cell growth. It helps to develop sexual maturation. It is important in the senses of taste and smell. It is important for proper functioning of the immune system. We have heard it protects against colds, but it also is said to help against influenza, conjunctivitis and other infections.Zinc lozenges are said to help speed healing of canker sores and sore throat.(Hmm, I wonder about the sinus probs I have had lately, if it would help)There is also thinking that zinc would help in more serious illnesses such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, fibromyalgia, and maybe MS.Actually in diseases that are with a mal-functioning immune system. Zinc helps in the healing of wounds and skin irritations, such as acne, burns, eczema, psoriasis.... Zinc helps to have a healthy scalp and hair! Vision loss in macular degeneration has been slowed with the use of zinc. A recent Japanese study has shown that tinnitus improved when treated with zinc. Zinc may also help osteoporosis,IBS, and ulcers. Too much zinc can interfer with copper absorption, which can lead to anemia.
