Oh my gosh Fresh out of residency - I thought that would be a bonus - new ideas, maybe less concerned with actual numbers. NOT! He must have told me 6 times that my levels were in the normal range. " It doesn't matter which end of the range - it's still normal. " Ugh. He strongly feels that I have sleep apnea - hmm, didn't know that caused a goiter. So, I'm on my own until November, when I'll be able to see yet another doctor (I have a little bit of hope - it's a woman). Anyway, has anyone heard of Thyax? I just ran across a link to it - http://www.progressivehealth.com/catalog/displayitem.asp?product=2 - it says " Thyax can help your body produce more thyroxine to naturally stimulate your thyroid function " . Most of this type of product stimulates the gland...which can also cause problems with some conditions.... Any chance that you could give that next doc a call and politely request the tests that you want... explaining that the first doc wasn't too interested in finding out what was going on? I know this is nuts... but I've only seen that spelling once before... a gal that I went to high school with.... didn't graduate out of Anoka, did you?
