Guest guest
I received a notice in the mail Saturday that I am going to respond to: For any of you who were given Hormone Replacement Therapy, please read the message below and if you choose, call the number given. I have called them. Front of message: Attention Hormone Replacement Therapy Patients HRT Were you prescribed Estraogen & Progestin Premarin (Premarin® or Provera® Premphase® Prem-Pro® To treat Menopause or Menopausal Symptoms? 1- Inside of message: HRT Alert For years women have been prescribed Hormone Replacement Therapy for the purpose of treating the serious symptoms and health consequences of menopause..including hot flashes, mood swings, depression, sleep disturbances, osteoporosis, vaginal dryness and urinary atrophy. Women who were prescribed HRT medications (Including Premarin, Prem-Pro, Premphase or Premarin with Provera) were told the drugs were SAFE and actually lowered certain health risks. There is a growing body of medical evidence suggesting tht there is a dramatic increase in the incidence of breast cancer, in particular invasive lobular carcinoma and ductal cancers, for women who took various HRT drugs (Estrogen and Progestin). Let's be clear. It is finally being reported that HRT has caused a dramatic increase in the incidence of breast cancer. A recent study funded by the Department of Health Services and National Institutes of Health reported that HRT (Estrogen plus Progestin) substantially increased the risk of breast cancer. Women who participated in the study were told that the dangers of taking estrogen plus progestin were far greater than the benefits. the participants were immediately taken off the hormone replacement therapy and the study was abrutly ended. The MILLION WOMAN STUDY (Lancet August 9, 2003) showed that women who were prescribed combination hormone replacement therapy were twice as likely to develop breast cancer compared to non-HRT patients. A 100% increased risk. The numbers of women diagnosed with breast cancer appears to be significantly on the rise for women who took combination hormone replacement therapy. (Estrogen and Progestin). If you or a loved one were prescribed HRT medications and have been diagnosed with breast cancer, including lobular cancer or ductal carcinoma, please contact us. 1- Back of message: If you have been diagnosed with Breast Cancer and you were prescribed HRT medications (Prem-Pro, Premarin, Provera, Premphase) or if you ahve a fmily member or friend who has undergone HRT, please ask them to contact our offices immediately at: 1- There are no fees or costs charged toyou whatsoever, unless and until we recover damages on your behalf against the manufacturer. Call us today at: Law Offices of A. Snyder Gruber & Gruber 1- The address for the firm is: 15165 Ventura Blvd. Ste. # 400 Sherman Oaks, CA 91403 As I said, I don't believe in frivilous lawsuits but my doctor was asked by me several times about the chances of breast cancer and each time he told me that I was safe. At the same time, my pharmacist has told me to ask the doctor if I should be taking the Premarin. I wish I had listened to the pharmacist and ignored the doctor. Guest guest
Doris -- Just for your info (but not for a lawsuit): I have never been prescribed any hormones except for Ortho-Novum in about 1967 (I was 21). I took it for less than one year to cure acne and for birth control. It was a strong estrogen and progesterone regimin. I quit it because it made me feel nervous. At menopause time (around 2002/2003), I used some estrogen cream and progesterone cream but not for a very long time -- they seemed to improve skin & vaginal dryness and I didn't have to pee so often. However, I was a little bit afraid of cancer, so I gave it up. Ha Ha Ha. Here I am. Just for your general info.
