Sounds very well like you could be hypo...

Oh... welcome! hehehehehe

Can you get copies of the tests that they've taken so far, with values and lab ranges? That would give us a better pic of what your body is up to. TSH all by itself really doesn't tell much of a story.

You really need to have Free T4, Free T3 and the thyroid antibodies (antithyroglobulin and antithyroidperoxidase).

IMHO

The past year I have been extremely tired and run down. I can sleep 12 hours, be up 4, and sleep another twelve. I will still be tired when I get up! I have hard to manage periods even though I'm on birth control. I had my TSH checked in November, 2003 and it was 2.0. My doctor told me I was depressed and prescribed an antidepressant. My symptoms have gotten so bad I can barely get out of bed. I cannot tolerate any exertion without exhaustion. I have recently begun having joint pain, carpal tunnel, and stiffness, I have multiple stomach problems, chronic allergies, mood swings (but not depression) if I go off of my antidepressant, the symptoms go on and on. I recently went back to the doctor and my TSH was 3.6 and T4 was .94. They told me their is nothing wrong with my thyroid, I'm depressed. I'm not F*ing depressed! I feel like I'm going crazy! I have an appt. with a holistic Dr. who is supposed to be amazing and think "out of the box" at the end of august. Can anyone tell me what else they think it could be or do ya'll think it is hypothyroidism?

Your T4 is barely inside so called " normal " range. Most are saying they

feel better with it in the upper range, say 1.2 to 1.8, on that type of

testing. We don't know what your Free t3 is, and do you have antibodies?
