I'll fill you in on a secret. Although most of us know it so it may not be that bit a secret after all..... We learn about all of this from each other... it doesn't matter what form of thyroid problem we have or how old we are or how long we've had it, or what med we are on... we all learn from each other... So feel free to share symptoms and feelings and frustrations with us... There is almost always some one that will be able to relate to what you are going through and offer suggestions. Our goal here is to feel the best we possible can and start living again! Okay... You said that you were diagnosed last week? So that is when you started taking the Levoxyl? Why is it that you have .125 mg pills and are cutting them in half? Did they give you stronger pills that what the doc said to take or is there another reason? It can take as long as 4 to 6 weeks for your body to start reacting when you begin taking thyroid hormones, like Levoxyl, so you have to try to be patient while you wait to see how your body reacts... You may need to increase your dose, too, so that would mean another waiting period while you wait for you body to adjust.... Getting your thyroid condition better cared for may mean that you can cut down on those other meds... It would be easier, with the osteo if you were on natural thyroid rather than synthetic (Levoxyl is a synthetic thyroid med)... but we can get into that further as you get more familiar with all the new terms and how you are doing.... You mentioned meno.... may I ask your age? To be fair, I'll tell you mine, most folks here already know... I'm 47, just had a birthday a few weeks ago! Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it all....
