Guest guest
I had AC treatments every 3 weeks, October thru December. Then taxotere every 3 weeks January through mid-March. I lost my hair during the AC but it started to grow back as soon as I started the taxotere. My most severe reactions to the taxotere were: (1) Extremely sore and achy leg joints, especially my right hip. Some days I couldn't walk more than 50 feet before having to stop and rest. Today I still have hip pains if I walk too long on unlevel terrain. (2) Severe deformation of my finger and toe nails. They got really thick and are just now only 75% grown back with normal nails. The nails on my big toes got so thick they acted like ingrown toenails or hangnails and hurt so bad I had to wear sandals until June when I was able to go back to closed-toe shoes. I didn't lose any fingernails nor either of my big toenails, but I am still shedding those thick nails from the smaller toes to this day as the new thinner nails grow in. The smaller toes were never painful. Guest guest
I'm standing in agreement with you for the good news...georgiasharon_19462002 <no_reply > wrote: Dear Debbie, I am on taxotere every 3 weeks and so far that hasn't happened to my nails. Did the taxotere help in getting rid of the cancer? I have had 5 treatments so far and today I had a ct scan and a bone scan to see if it is working for me. Please, please, please, dear Lord, I hope it is. I would like some good news from my onco tomorrow instead of disappointing news most of the time. Thank you for sharing your info with taxotere.
