Guest guest
Dear Forum, I am a Broadcast Journalsit who is working on HIV/AIDS issues from a pretty long time. My main area of operation is Rajasthan where I dont know why the things are getting worse and worse day by day in the field of HIV AIDS. It was shocking for me to witness a death of a HIV/AIDS patient yesterday who was not oferred treatment only on the ground that she was a HIV Positive. The incidence happened on 4th of November,2006 when this women brought to hospital for treatment of some other ailment, tested HIV positive. Rajasthan Network of Positive people alleged that her HIV status brought complete denial from the Doctors who showed unwillingness to give her life saving drugs, not even oxygen. RNP+ members brought the dead body of the decesased to the office of Rajasthan Aids control society where it kept lying uptil the intervention of local police. I was shocked to see the dead body under the shade of a poster which was saying " Let us fight against HIV AIDS " . This was not the first case of HIV-AIDS patient being denied of treatment. Now is it time to sensitise the Doctors when we are alreday number one effected by the draconian virus. Is any body listening?
