Guest guest
, Welcome! Sorry to hear about your mom's problems.. Lets see what we can figure out... Would you happen to have copies of her last labs? With the ranges.... With those we'd be able to get an idea as to how she's reacting to her meds.. and what her antibody levels are. Some folks that are hypo have problems with an over sized tongue. How is hers? Are the gum sores on the inside or the outside? Has she been eating anything or taking anything that might have burned our irritated the gums? How has her body temp been running? Pulse rate and respiration? I'm wondering if her meds are too low or her body isn't processing it correctly... What is she taking and what dose? How long since her last labs and adjustment in dosage? She has these painful sores on her gums, and they burn so bad that she can't hardly eat. I was wondering if anyone might know what these are or what she can do to make it better? She's trying to avoid going to a doctor. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Guest guest
When it comes to th mouth health and thyroid, the first i want to ask is whether she's had her ferritin run recently (stored iron, NOT the serum iron)? this is one of the most common anemias with mouth problems, along with folic acid, B12, B6, B5, or B1 (thiamine). As a matter of fact, the Bs should all be taken together, as one will leave the others out of balance, if you are only taking one. B3 (Niacin) is a culprit, when it comes to fissures in the outer corners of the mouth. What nutrients is she taking, since she already has a thyroid problem, right? Is she elderly? I work with the elderly, and poor nutrition is one of the worst problems for us when we get in this age group, and thyroid problems magnifies this greatly. Need Help!!!!! > Hi everyone! I'm new here. Guest guest
Thanks for replying! My mom is taking the B complex, 1 pill daily as instructed. Her doctor doesn't want her taking iron, because she has immune problems also. She's in her 40's, and she said the sores are on the inside and oustide of her gums, and it's also on the roof of her mouth. They look like small blisters. She thinks it's related to her Hashimoto's because they get worse at the same time her Hashi's does. If anyone has an idea of what this is, or what can help to make these sores less painful, please let me know! Thanks for your help! > When it comes to th mouth health and thyroid, the first i want to ask is > whether she's had her ferritin run recently (stored iron, NOT the serum > iron)? this is one of the most common anemias with mouth problems, along > with folic acid, B12, B6, B5, or B1 (thiamine).
