Guest guest
I'm a Hashi's patient (my own, by gosh), and I've been doing mine about every 3 months or so, since I found out that they should be done more often. This has been while I've been bringing my Armour up though. Maybe if I tested the same levels and felt the same way for a yr or so, then I might try for every six months, unless I started feeling bad again. It is an individual thing, from person to person. Some people's glands burn out very rapidly. Others are hanging in there still, causing massive confusion, like mine, after 11 yrs of known hypo, who even knows if I fluctuated, because I didn't know enough about it then, I thought it was much simpler than all this. I know that in the beginning, I was hyper for a period of time, lost all kinds of weight, and many other symptoms different from the hypo ones, and some similar to. Then, about 4 yrs or so ago, I start feeling graduallly worse and worse, til I tested out last yr , and it was definitely the thyroid going WAYY haywire, with a 35 something TSH, and a Free T4 dropped down way below normal, whatever that is, and a Free T3 way down in the very lower range. I have no idea what my thyroid antibodies were before because I really didn't know to ask way back there, but when I tested them myself this past spring, there both of them were in the thousands. Blood tests - how often? > Another question from a newbie... > How often do most Hashis/hypo patients get blood tests to monitor > their TSH, T4, and T3 levels? Guest guest
Unless there is a dramatic change in symptoms, doctors usually do routine blood work every 6 months or every 3 months if the meds are still being adjusted.
