My advice ( not that anyone has ever asked me ) is to make some

copies of pictures of lymphedema found on the net and take them to

work. I have it in my right arm. My hand is very noticeably swollen.

It does not hurt very much, although it aches sometimes. But holding

a pen or pencil feels weird, like there is a balloon around my

fingers that won't let me get the correct grip. My upper arm is

swollen and it makes finding clothes a real trip. My lymphedema was

caused by me doing the spring cleaning. I started scrubbing the house

and noticed my hand was puffy. I knew nothing of lymphedama so I just

continued cleaning. Big mistake..... Now I notice that even my

husband expects me to lift and use my arm for repetitive tasks. If I

say that I should not ..... they accuse me of trying to get out of

work. And if I go ahead and do the job I get yelled at for " being

stupid " . I was wondering if others have these problems. My family

doctor ignores it. He will give a complete physical and never mention

or ask me about the arm. Sometimes I feel like they do not know what

lymphedema is. It is unmentioned.... like some taboo thing. Did that

make sense?
