,

I so totally, totally identify with you and that dreaded exercise torture!

I don't like to walk without a true destination. Walking around the

neighborhood holds no joy for me although there are many beautiful

yards. I mean, where's my destination????????? There has to be a

point to walking besides knowing I've exercised. It just doesn't " do "

anything for my mind to tell my mind that walking is good for me.

Nope. There has to be a valid " reason " ... more than it is good for

me! Maybe if I had a friend nearby to walk to visit, that would be

different. I don't golf. I don't play tennis or basketball, etc. I'm thinking

of buying a recumbent bicycle and ride with my 4 year old

granddaughter. Maybe that would work for me. Does anyone have a

recumbent bike? Do you like it?

Just hang in there .

Kathleen, I don't know about recumbent bikes (other than that they cost a lot of money), but I have a good friend who lost lots of weight and inches with a "Gazelle" - - - I debated about buying one, but decided that walking would work for me, so I never did get one.

I know how you and feel about exercise; I don't really enjoy doing it either, but it is just part of my day- - - - I will say that it is my meditation/thinking/praying time - - and my destination is my own front door and a hot shower at the end of my 45 minute walk.

Just hang in there - - and do some kind of exercise, even if it's just putting on an exercise tape and doing something in front of the TV for 30 or 40 minutes. Your 4 year old granddaughter would probably love doing that with you!!
