" This is very dificult to do as Jordan has a special place in my heart, this news makes me very very sad. Jordan brought me to this list many years ago, as she did for many others. She was very special with her kind words and thoughts, and she was one off the people that I longed to meet. I don"t remember how we first got in touch, but we've been pen pals sice 1993...first by snail mail and then (when I finally got a computer) on email. We were in touch often, and we shared so much. But, as Donna said I don't think people realized the pain she was in, especially at the end it got pretty bad.... We both adored "Party of 5" when it was on and would write eachother every week to discuss what happened. She said we were "Party" buddies. Smile. Later when her sight failed her and she could not watch tv anymore we still kept in touch, but discussed books (which she got in braille) and current events. The last email I got was about a month ago, and she was pretty upbeat. And was starting on a new detective novel... I will miss her (and her emails) terribly, she had an amazing spirit and I so admired her courage. She taught me alot and will always be one of my heroes!! Goodbye JD- I love you! How active she remained, taking a trip to Maine, reading, writing books. How she found such joy in the few remaining things she was able to do? Perhaps that is how we can best pay tribute to Jordan...to also appreciate the time we have and the abilities we have today. But it won't be easy. I too will miss the emails between us. That was my first contact with Jordan. After that, we three, with some later help, took the reins of the Crew to get it going on the right track. Your numbers are evidence that our fondest wishes for the Crew are being realized. I am glad Jordan knew about it and wish nne had been able to see it this far. Working together with Jordan led to a respect we teasingly called a mutual fan club. I write today to say goodbye, I find that it is an approach that eases my grieving. Jordan, The world of NF2 seems to often bring out the best in people. I see here, much more frequently than in everyday walks of life, people who demonstrate the highest virtues in rare and special combination, humility, caring, in telligence and wisdom, the understandings of the value of the important things in life, and the ablity to be genuine and strong. You, as much as anyone I know, are at the very pinnacle of exemplifying these things. I am fortunate to have not only worked alongside you to begin the Crew, but even more, to have had you at the becon of my computer for your advice, understanding, and profound friendship. I dearly wish we had been able to cross the 2000 mile chasm to meet in person. I would have liked to give you a huge hug, and let you know with my expression, sign, and touch how very much you meant to me. Deep down, I believe you did know that, anyway. Since you lost visual access to the computer, I have been too negligent in keeping communication open. That doesn't mean I didn't think of you. Surely I did. In my mind, I rationalized my quiet by telling myself that you knew how strongly I respected and cared for you even without contact, since I had made it clear while we had it. Cheri Jordan, there will come a day when we WILL meet face to face, hopefully with full faces each. And I will get my long awaited-hug, and get to rub my beard against your cheek as we teased one another before. You remain near to my heart and always will.
