Dear Members,

The Project Director of Chhattisgarh SACS has fired all the staff of SACS w.e.f.

1st April 2006. The reason being given is that NACP-II has come to an end. There

are now no staff in SACS. The office is locked. The issue for concern is that

the TI's, VCCTC, PPTCT are running but there are no SACS officers to manage

them.

This is a very poor state of affairs. If the States are given so much freedom

that they can fire all their staff and close down the office and still get funds

from NACO, there will be no control at all.

The SACS staff are all in a state of shock and they find themselves out of job

without even a full months notice.

The programs being run are also not very much present in the field. There are no

initiatives for IEC. The lack of information among public is so much that nobody

in the state barely knows about the presence of a Community Care Centre in

Bilaspur.

I urge all the members to give their opinion that whether this state of affairs

will help the program.
