In my opinion yes. Not everyone will have the same view. I believe there is no way to be certain unless you have a catscan. I went to a neurosurgeon and he told me my sons head was fine. @@ I could have ripped that mans head off lol. I gave him a cd of the catscan and he wouldnt even look at it. He opened one file and that was it. I was in shock. In the catscan you can see my sons head is lop sided and his cheek is bigger, the eye ball is actually bigger and his ear is but you cant see it in the catscan. He said my son needs nothing. I hate neurosurgeons now lol. I will stay with my plastic surgeon from now on.

Oh have something to add to my email. When I went to hanger I met a lady there. Her baby was diagonised with plagio. They told her that her daughters sutures where fine. I am not sure if she got a catscan or not. Anyways she was mis diagonised. The little girl is 15 months and recently went thrugh surgery for cranio because of being in the helmet therapy first they said her daughter's head will never be "perfect". She was a very angry person. Not at me but angry with what her daughter has been through. I gave her my email address so hopefully she will email me. When she does I will ask if anyone wants to read her story. I am not going to post her story to everyone cause I dont want to scare people with it. It believe this is a very rare thing tho. THis is the only person I have talked to that has had this problem. I dont mean to scare people with this either but this is one reason I believe baby's should have catscans with 3-d reconstruction done.

Hi Andra,

No, it's not alway necessary. Not all plagio babies see specialist and

get CT scans or x-rays. Usually it's done when cranio is suspected.

I'm sure your ped felt that Matt's sutures were opened. :-)

Take care,

HI April.

Can you tell me please what is the difference between a helmet and a

band? Which one is better?

I took a look on the Cranial Tech site and they seem to be pretty

good...how much did it cost you?

Do you have any site adds so i can check them up?

Hi,

No, bands/helmets don't hurt the baby at all. A lot of babies love

their bands. You'll see it won't be so bad once you see your baby in a

band. They all look so cute!

there is no way to be certain unless you have a catscan. I went to a

neurosurgeon and he told me my sons head was fine. @@ I could have

ripped that mans head off lol. I gave him a cd of the catscan and he

wouldnt even look at it. He opened one file and that was it. I was in

shock. In the catscan you can see my sons head is lop sided and his

cheek is bigger, the eye ball is actually bigger and his ear is but

you cant see it in the catscan. He said my son needs nothing. I hate

neurosurgeons now lol. I will stay with my plastic surgeon from now on.
