The University of Manitoba (UOM), with funding from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and other international donors, is implementing projects to scale up HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support services and programs, primarily in Karnataka, but also in certain other Indian states. The Karnataka Health Promotion Trust (KHPT), established in partnership with the UOM, invites applications for the following positions from talented and committed candidates who are seeking meaningful and challenging assignments in relation to a recently awarded USAID funded project.

Regional Program Managers

Masters in Social work or any other relevant degree in development sector or Public Health. At least 5-7 years of experience in HIV/AIDS programs dealing with vulnerable and affected populations including sex workers and MSM. Experience of managing NGO/CBO partnerships.

Knowledge of local language will be an asset.

Must have a systematic and strategic approach in facilitating problem solving in partnership with the community and implementing partners. Must have excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills in order to be able to manage relationships with diverse program partners.

Must be able to plan and strategize using an evidence-based approach that includes analysis of qualitative and quantitative data. Positions involve extensive travel.

Regional Managers – Care and Support

MBBS/MD in Community Medicine/ Dermatology or Pediatrics with public health experience of at least 4-6 years. Preference for those with experience in HIV/AIDS.

Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team; would be required to set up and monitor services for vulnerable and high-risk population groups, train different categories of service providers and manage basic research.

Manager –Capacity Building

Masters in Social Work or sociology with 7-10 years of experience in the development sector and proven track record of conducting trainings.

Experience of training related to HIV is an added advantage

To manage training needs and capacity building needs of the project.

Knowledge of local language is a must.

Position calls for travel.

Monitoring and Evaluation Manager

MSc/PhD in Demography/Statistics with 6-8 years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation of programs.

To work in the areas of MIS, IBBA and other studies. Design and set up MIS systems and train users in using the system including analysis of data. Design and implement research studies. Position calls for travel.

Manager – Communication and Advocacy

(No of vacancies - 1)

Post Graduate degree in any discipline. 6-10 years of experience working with Govt/NGO sector. Designing and implementing communication programmes, working with community groups and policy makers. Knowledge of local language and experience in the HIV sector would be an added advantage.

Design and implement a communication strategy and action plan. Conceptualise, plan and implement programmes for the empowerment of vulnerable and affected populations. Advocate with influencers and government for the needs of affected and vulnerable population. Should possess good negotiation and crisis management skills and ability to deal effectively with Government, NGOs and CBOs.

Senior Administrator

Post Graduate/MBA any equivalent degree in any subject with at least 12-15 years experience in administration.

Good interpersonal skills, initiative and resourcefulness and a systems orientation.

Ability to withstand pressure of long working hours and odd timings. Knowledge of local language is a must.

Plan, organise, direct and provide quality administrative services in a cost effective and timely manner. Create and maintain the organisation’s infrastructure to enhance the operating effectiveness of staff. Ability to manage office infrastructure, building management, housekeeping, vehicle & fleet management, vendor management, travel & logistics, procurement, insurance and carrying out day to day administrative functions.

Junior Administrator

Any graduate /postgraduate with at least 3-7 years of experience in the areas of administration, preferably in the development sector.

Job involves providing complete administrative support to senior managers to fulfill the growing organizational needs in the areas of building maintenance, set ups, house-keeping, travel & logistics, insurance and procurement.

Senior Finance Officer

(No of vacancies-1)

Charted Accountant/ MBA (Finance)/ M.Com with experience of 4-6 years or a commerce graduate with experience of 8-10 years experience. Excellent computer skills needed.

Responsible for developing and implementing cash management procedures and overseeing policies and procedures related to accounts, management and financial reports, finance and financial control of organisations. Prepare budgets, monitor expenses, conduct audits. Ability to monitor and control organisation accounting and managing information records and reports in order to ensure the security and accuracy of its financial information. B.Com/M.Com or inter CA, ICWAI with at least 6-8 years experience in handling finance and accounts. Work experience with International NGOs and HIV Programmes would be an advantage. Excellent computer skills.

Handle project related accounts and day-to-day handling of cash. Ensure fulfilling of all statutory compliances. Provide support to all functions of the finance unit.

Graduate in any discipline – with at least 2-5 years

experience working in office settings in a supportive role. Good interpersonal, communication and computer skills.
