Subject: Re: Sales tax on Anti Retro Viral (ARV) drugs

This issue I guess refers to patients buying ARV outside the govt

supply thru ART centres. Sales tax is a state subject and has to be

taken up at that level. Had once raised this with Bengal's finance

minister at a time when there was no govt supply scheme and everyone

had to buy, that too at higher prices. He had then agreed in

principle to do something about it. But then, I was transferred and

could not pursue the matter further. It can be achieved, though.
