Chennai: HIVA meeting for PLHAs at Freedom Foundation

Dear Forum,

We would like to share our experience on starting the group

of HIVA (HIV Anonymous) group in INDIA for the first time in Chennai.

The meeting started with men and women and also with few NGOs who are welcoming

this group. This is the first step on behavioral change of the PLHAs to be self

supportive to them selves apart from the networks group.

Most of the participants were happy to be a part of this group. Overall 40

participants male and female were there and the goals and objectives were

clearly mentioned, it was done on a participatory manner.

This program is beyond spiritual concepts where the PLHAs can share their

experience, strength & hope with emotionally mentally and spiritually along with

service availability.

After the meeting we got a very healthy feedback from the clients,

asking help to pass on the message of HIVA groups. People interested
