Guest guest
Boy, it's no wonder I am overweight! I have no willpower what-so-ever!!! This plan is the easiest that I have been on other than the diabetic one and I can't even stick to it!!! I totally went off it on Sat. when we went to Las Vegas Night at one of the factories. They had a buffet and cake, and needless to say, so did I! Then yesterday started out really well but after church I done nothing but eat until bed. I have decided that I'm not going to continue going to the meetings. I do think that they stress me to the point that I come home and eat also. Oh well. I'll bet I gained at least a pound! Guest guest
Sharon, Are you sure skipping meetings is the answer? Maybe there's another meeting with another leader you can go to? I know I couldn't have done it without the meetings. It's what held me accountable. But they never stressed me... something is wrong with your meeting if you're feeling that kind of stress! Talk to your leader! Glad you're not ditching the program, though, and I sure hope you find what works for you. Sometimes we blow it, you know? I'm at goal and I STILL blew it last night. Three words - chocolate ice cream. :-? Good luck!

Guest guest
Actually I am debating the skipping the meetings thing. The leader does absolutely nothing to stress me. It's just me. I don't like being in a room of people and not knowing anyone and it's so embarressing even though they don't make it that way when you don't lose. Oh well. I'm still trying! You're my inspiration being at goal. Sharon Are you sure skipping meetings is the answer? Maybe there's another meeting with another leader you can go to? Guest guest
Hang in there Sharon!! I don't go to the meetings I just come to the group to get encouragement and support. You can do this if you want to!! We are all here to help you on your journey!! I think you need to try to figure out what your " bad " foods or areas are and then try to stay away from them for a while. Maybe you haven't given yourself long enough to not crave the " bad " stuff. Hang in there!!! Maureen > > Boy, it's no wonder I am overweight! I have no willpower what- so-ever!!! Maybe you haven't given yourself long enough to not crave the "bad" stuff. It doesn't matter the type of food, but sometimes it just seems like I can't get full. I know there is no way I could be hungry, but feel like I am. Now, yesterday I stayed within my range and last night wasn't the least bit hungry. Guest guest
How are the people at your meetings? I guess they're ok. I've only been to two of them. Seems like they each have friends that they have brought with them and I'm by myself. I'm not real outgoing away from work, so I just sit there. I do enjoy getting the journal papers though. I do better with them than just writing it down on regular paper for some reason. Sharon

Some days I just don't seem to get satisfied and other days I don't want to eat at all. Bell peppers have been my saving grace - I can munch on those instead of chips or candy. Green bell peppers don't do it - I need to have the red and/or the orange ones. Hang in there!! ~~ It doesn't matter the type of food, but sometimes it just seems like I can't get full. Guest guest
Sharon, Don't be so hard on yourself. This weight loss thing is a long slow journey - not only physically but mentall too. I am also having a hard time staying completely OP during the weekends but we just do the best we can do, don't we? I really want to encourage you to go to meetings but try one thing different... don't look at the number on the scale and tell the weigher that you don't want to know the number or whether you lost or gained. I too was hugely stressed by going to the meetings (each week I am still anxious) but then we had the meeting where you were not allowed to look at the scale or what they wrote in your book until the end of the meeting. That meeting was so liberating for me because I suddenly saw that it was not about the number on the scale so much as it was about me changing my behaviors and my mentality. Will you try that method a few times? I can't remember but do you have children? If so I can understand why you might have to have some of your trigger foods in the house but otherwise get rid of them! I find that I buy something on occassion and I eat one or two servings over a few days and then I throw the rest away! My leader has taught me that even though there are starving people in this world I am most likely not to send them my leftovers but only to stuff myself with them - which in turn does neither me nor them any good - and in fact harms me more! Ok, lecture over - keep those spirits up! KC > > Boy, it's no wonder I am overweight! I have no willpower what- so-ever!!! Guest guest
Hi Kim! Wow! It really sounds like you are making the changes in your attitude that it takes to succeed at this program! We all need to remember that the scale is not the only measure of success in our weight loss journey and that " numbers " shouldn't be our only focus. Guest guest
Kim, Thanks for the encouraging words. I have no doubt I will not lose this time around, as it is almost my TOM and i always gain at least 2 lbs. Oh well. I am going to hang in there though and go to the meeting tomorrow. I will take your advice and tell them not to tell me and then after the meeting I will look at what they wrote down. See if that makes me feel any better. I have been exercising though. (walking) I wasn't doing that before. I walk a mile before work and then another mile on 9:00 break and then another nurse and I walk a mile at 10:00 when work is over. Today is my day off so we will see how I do. I am determined to stay OP though. I do have children still at home. I have 2 grown children, 2 still at home and 3 grandchildren. My parents also live with us, along with my husband, of course. Keeping the things out of the house is not an option! It's ok though, because I'm going to make it!!!!
