EngenderHealth Society is one of the five in a consortium of NGOs, which have received funding to complement the NACO/Government of India ART roll out efforts in the six HIV high prevalence states in India. EngenderHealth Society role is to build capacity of NGO consortium partners and other NGOs in providing quality care and support including ART adherence. The consortium includes Population Foundation of India (PFI), EngenderHealth Society (EHS), Freedom Foundation (FF), Indian Network of People living with HIV/AIDS (INP+) and Confederation of Indian Industries (CII). Overall Scope: The Training Manager is responsible for implementing the technical assistance and the training /learning interventions for NGO sector providers for quality care and support services to people on ARV in six high prevalence states under the GFATM project. The Training Manager will build and maintain capacity in developing and strengthening sustainable local training systems at the state level through the application of innovative instructional training design and materials development and dissemination. Responsibilities: Actively assist the Program Manager in overseeing the implementation of the GFATM project at the state level Manage and supervise a team consisting of MIS/Program Assistant and 4 field based state based Co-ordinators. Provide Technical Assistance (TA) to Continuing Education and Training Centres (CETCs) including conducting trainings and support the capacity development at the Continuing Education and Training Centres (CETCs). In collaboration with the Program Manager and Program Associate and a team of 4 state based Training Coordinator develop training and learning mechanisms for provider support interventions, introduce and evaluate technical approaches and methodologies in strengthening NGO provider support systems, including training and learning necessary technical inputs Develop, review and revise training materials and set up a Technical Advisory Group (TAG) for development of new curricula, and revision or adaptation of existing curricula. Conduct Training of Training and facilitate trainings and workshops. Facilitate CETCs and back stop and supervise master trainers to carry out trainings. Conduct field visits to monitor program activities Review monthly and quarterly narrative reports of Continuing Education and Training Centres (CETCs) and work closely with Program Manager and Program Associate to prepare quarterly and annual narrative reports to the donor Prepare and oversee the implementation of Project Implementation Plan (PIP), annual capacity building plans with consortium partners, in consultation with SACS, WHO, UNAIDS and NACO Monitor implementation of project activities and work closely with the consortium partners to ensure timely roll out of trainings at state levels Provide targeted Technical Assistance (TA) to the SACS and consortium partners responsible for implementing the ART roll out in the states Document project findings and represent India Country Office at national and international for a for dissemination and increased visibility Obtain feedback on technical areas related to curriculum development from New York Head office and other EngenderHealth colleagues. Hire new staff as needed, supervise and mentor their work closely to implement new activities Represent the project in the general area of training and learning approaches to NACO, State AIDS Control Societies, institutions hosting Continuing Education and Training Centers, and other projects, donors, and agencies. Look for programme development opportunities to expand ICO¡¦s work in HIV/AIDS at the state and National level This position requires travel up to 30% of the time for field-based TA and/or leadership activities Qualifications and Experience Post Graduate degree in public health, Preventive Social Medicine or equivalent, or education or a related degree Candidates with medical background and experience in HIV clinical care (including ART) preferable) English Fluency required. Good knowledge of Kannada will be a distinct advantage Additional language skills in at least 1-2 languages- Tamil, Telugu, Marathi and Hindi desirable 5-7 years¡¦ experience in developing and implementing training and other support interventions, with a minimum of 5 years¡¦ experience in HIV/AIDS or other relevant health area and a minimum of 3 years¡¦ experience with NGO sector programming Proven track record in curriculum and instructional materials design and development and the development of training methodologies and approaches for HIV/AIDS Capacity to oversee the development and implementation of work plans, M & E activities, and reports Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills Significant long- and/or short-term experience in providing field-based TA to state government in area of HIV/AIDS preferred Desired Skills Leadership and strong collaborative and diplomatic skills in managing multiple partner relationships Excellent report writing and curriculum development skills Ability to multitask and Capability to develop relationships with stakeholders as NGOs, SACS, NACO and WHO Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, partnering and supervisory skills to be applied to a team of 6 state based training co-ordinators Should be able to use XL and spread sheet.
